About The Trip
Why Zambia?
Zambia is a landlocked country located in sub-Saharan Africa that is home to 12 million people, of which nearly half are under the age of 16. Sadly, of these approximately 6 million children, 1 million have been orphaned due to HIV/AIDS and extreme poverty. In fact, Zambia has the largest percentage of orphans of any country in the world. The average life expectancy is 38 years, and 86% of the country lives on less than $1 dollar a day.

We will be working through Family Legacy Missions International in their Tree of Life Children's Village where we will lead a "singing workshop," taking part in food drops, playing with the kids, and serving at one of Family Legacy's Community Resource Centers while also singing at many churches around the community.

Who is Family Legacy Missions International?
Family Legacy is a Missions organization in Zambia that was founded by Greer Kendall, an American man born in Zambia who, after returning to Zambia in June of 2000 for the first time since he left as a 6-year-old boy, founded Family Legacy in September of 2000, three months after his visit.
The Ministry consists of three branches:
-Camp Life, a ministry that proclaims the gospel to Zambian children through American counselors who build relationships and reinforce biblical teaching.
-Father's Heart, a ministry that reaches orphaned children by meeting comprehensive needs to facilitate change through sponsors.
-The Tree of Life Children's Village, a ministry that provides a safe haven and a place to live for the neediest orphans who have no place else to go.
